One of the leading Canberra attractions for families, this science and technology centre is home to over 200 interactive exhibits, including a six-meter freefall slide, a giant pinball machine and the interactive Born or Built? exhibit that explores our changing relationship with machines. Australian Institute of Sport

Get set for a burst of inspiration at The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). This world-class sporting facility is dedicated to providing elite athletes with the best possible training and coaching – and you can tour the facility to see the facilities used by some of Australia’s top athletes. The tour includes a visit to the AIS arena and Sportex – an interactive sports gallery with a unique collection of Australian sporting memorabilia.

 

Royal Australian Mint

Visit the source of Australia’s rich coin heritage. The Royal Australian Mint is another must-visit attraction in Canberra. Take a tour of the coin gallery, which showcases the history of Australian currency, and the manufacturing floor, where visitors can see the minting process in action. Responsible for producing all of the coins used in Australia, visitors to the Mint can take a tour of the facility and see how coins are made. 

 

National Dinosaur Musuem

Enter a world of epic proportions. Located in Gold Creek Village, the National Dinosaur Museum is home to interactive exhibits and displays tracing dinosaur history with over 50 life-sized models and displays. Discover fossils from 700-million-year-old marine creatures and walk between dinosaur skeletons, replica models and animatronic dinosaurs – there are also STEM and ‘Sauropodlet’ workshops for kids.

 

Parliament House

Visit Australia’s seat of power! Situated on Capital Hill, in the heart of the city, the iconic Parliament House is the home of the Australian Parliament and some of Australia’s finest historical treasures. It’s also open for tours. Explore the Marble Foyer and Great Hall and browse over 260 artworks by prominent Australian artists. You can also watch Question Time and see bills being debated. On the roof, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Canberra.

Digital displays and artefacts trace the First and Second World Wars, as well as the conflicts in Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan. The memorial also hosts regular events and ceremonies to honour the sacrifices of Australia’s servicemen and women.
