Our award-winning boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Grinnell offers an extraordinary experience entrenched in the local history of our charming town. Originally built in 1921, as a junior high school that served the community until the 1970s, Hotel Grinnell, an Ascend Collection™ Hotel will delight and surprise even the savviest of travelers. You’ll stay in a stylish guest room that was once a classroom full of students. The gymnasium is now our event venue that can accommodate up to 300 guests. What was a locker room serves as our lounge and bar.
