Extended stay cooking tips
1. Use day-old bread. Most grocery stores sell day-old bread for a discounted price. Plus slightly stale bread holds up better when soaked and gives a better texture when cooked.
2. Look for prepped fruit. Pre-cut fruit or melon mixes save time and reduce waste during shorter stays. Use whatever is in season or on sale. Melon, berries, bananas, or even canned fruit (drained) all work well.
3. Your cinnamon sugar mix. You can find premixed cinnamon sugar in the spice aisle. Or, to make your own, mix 1⁄4 cup of granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
