Those interested in the Great Steamboat Era can visit the Howard Steamboat Museum and Mansion. The mansion was built in 1890 by Edmonds J. Howard, who had inherited the Howard Ship Yards from his father, James Howard. The Howard Ship Yards were the largest in the country at the time. The Falls of the Ohio also have a historical significance, as Mill Creek was the meeting place for Lewis and Clark when they began their expedition.
