Hikers will find Mt. Tallac Trail a challenge but well worth the spectacular views from the mountaintop. The trail measures 9.6 miles out and back with an elevation of 3,255 feet. There are plenty of lake views and opportunities to spot wildlife. If you are looking for a panoramic view of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountain range, take a ride in an eight-passenger glass cabin at the Gondola at Heavenly. This works just like a ski lift and takes you on a 2.4-mile ride. You can hop off at the top observation deck to shoot pictures and grab a coffee at their cafe. 

 

Go back to the early years in Tahoe at the Tallac Historic Site. Stroll through vintage summer homes and gardens of four wealthy families of the 1930s. A 72-mile ride around the Shoreline of Tahoe will truly give you a feel of this city and its gifts of nature.
