No, the Choice Privileges program is free.

The Choice Privileges program is available to adult residents (not companies or organizations) of the U.S., U.S. Territories, Australia, Canada, Europe, Mexico, New Zealand, and many countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and the Middle East. Countries currently excluded from the program include Belarus, Cuba, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Liberia, the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe.  

1. You can view your Choice Privileges statements anytime by accessing your online account on choicehotels.com.
2. Sign into your account.
3. Click on the "Stays & Activity" link in the navigation.
4. Use the drop down box to select the statement period you wish to view.
5. Click the "Go" button.

1. If the checkout date was more than 72 hours ago in the U.S. and Canada:
2. Please sign into your online account.
3. Click on the "Report Missing Stay" link in the right navigation.
4. Complete the Report a Missing Stay form or contact the Choice Service Center. 
5. Allow 20 days after checking out of hotels in Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, Central America, Australasia, and the Caribbean for points to post to your account.

Please follow these steps:

1. Create an online account
2. Sign in—once you sign into your online account, your account balance will appear toward the top of the page. 
3. To view your most recent stays, click on the "Stays & Activity" link in the navigation.

Except as noted below, you earn 10 points for each whole U.S. dollar that you pay in full in room revenue when paying qualifying rates, excluding taxes and other incidental charges at participating hotels.

Earning points at extended stay brands:

• WoodSpring Suites does not participate in the Choice Privileges programs, and no points are earned for stays there.
• Effective 2/1/2022 stays at Extended Stay brands MainStay Suites, Suburban Studios, and Everhome Suites earn points at rates that are based on the length of stay.
• For stays of 6 nights or fewer, stays at the Extended Stay brands earn 10 points for each whole U.S. dollar that you pay in full in room revenue (when paying qualifying rates, excluding taxes, restaurant or other incidental charges at participating hotels). [This earn rate also applies to dual-brand extended stay hotels i.e., a Sleep Inn or a MainStay Suites in the same building as another Choice hotel), no matter what the length of stay is).]
• For extended stays of 7 nights or more, you will earn 5 points for each whole U.S. dollar that you pay in full for that stay, in room revenue (when paying qualifying rates, excluding taxes, restaurant or other incidental charges at participating hotels). Point earning at Extended Stay brands is capped at 30 nights, and no points are earned for nights 31+.
• A “stay” is any number of consecutive nights at one hotel regardless of check-ins or check-outs.

No, you no longer need to stay 2 consecutive nights at these properties to qualify for promotions. You now need at least 1 night, just like at all of our other hotel brands.

Choice Privileges now includes a new Titanium tier for members who stay 55 nights or earn 110,000 Elite Qualifying Credits. Other tiers have all become 5 nights easier to earn, and you can qualify through stays or eligible spend. For more information, please see the Membership Levels Chart.

Elite Status is easier to earn than ever. You can qualify through nights or hotel spend.

Points never expire for Elite members. As long as you hold Gold, Platinum, Diamond, or Titanium status, your points are safe.

Members must remain active in the Program to retain the points they accumulate and use other program benefits. If a Member does not have any qualifying account activity for eighteen (18) consecutive calendar months, that Member's points will expire.

Beginning in 2026, Choice Privileges will offer new ways to earn rewards, enjoy exclusive benefits like Titanium status, and receive more recognition for your loyalty.

Choice Privileges is evolving starting January 1, 2026 with new benefits and easier ways to earn status.

Your points and status will remain. You’ll benefit from easier qualification and new benefits.

No action needed—your benefits will update automatically.

Your Extras will be replaced with Milestone Rewards offering more frequent and flexible benefits.

Your Extras will be phased out and replaced by Milestone Rewards, offering more flexible and frequent benefits. If a guest has a stay arriving after January 1st, 2026 that qualifies for Your Extras, then they will automatically be given their reward.

Choice Privileges Members achieve Elite status starting at Gold tier and above. Members can achieve Gold status after staying 5 nights and/or earning 10,000 Elite Qualifying Credits through spend. Our Elite tiers unlock enhanced benefits such as bonus points, exclusive rewards, and more. At any time, you can view your Elite progress under “My Account”.

Elite Qualifying Credits (EQCs) are the sum of the Stay Base Points earned from Points-Eligible Stays. You’ll earn 10 Elite Qualifying Credits for every whole $1 USD you spend in room revenue (excluding taxes or incidental charges) at eligible properties.

Choice Privileges members can receive new rewards as they stay more often—like bonus points or gift cards. You can view your earned and future milestone rewards under “My Account”.

Stay twice, get rewarded! Stay thrice, get rewarded again! You’ll earn 1,000 bonus points after your second and third qualifying stays each year. After your first qualifying stay, you will be able to see progress toward your next Return and Earn bonus under “My Account”.

Titanium members will receive a special coupon for 50% off a Reward Night stay at select properties once per year. This benefit is exclusive to our top-tier members. It is good for a redemption for 1 room for up to a 1 week stay at participating properties. Once you achieve Titanium status, you will be able to view your award under “My Account”.

Redemption rates haven’t changed. You’ll still need the same number of points for a reward night; however, individual hotel redemption levels may vary throughout the year. Reward Nights are available at participating locations worldwide starting as low as 6,000 Choice Privileges points per night, at some locations. Most locations start at 8,000 points or more. You may find the required point level for any participating location at ChoiceHotels.com or by calling the Reservation Program Line 1-877-424-6423.

Later in 2026, you’ll be able to share your points with other Choice Privileges members. This feature is expected to launch in March.

As long as you are an active Choice Privileges member, your points never expire. You must, however, complete at least one qualifying activity every 18 months to maintain an active account and to retain your accumulated points. Choice Privileges points are expired in accounts that have no qualifying activity during the previous 18 consecutive calendar months.

To remain active in the program and retain your points, you must have at least one of the following activities every 18 consecutive calendar months:

• Qualifying point-eligible stay (earning points or miles),
• Redeeming Choice Privileges points (free nights, gift cards etc.)
• Earning points with the Choice Privileges Mastercard^® card (US members only)
• Purchasing points

Examples of non-qualifying activities include stays that are not point-eligible, registering for a promotion, and gifting points (this only counts as a qualifying activity for the member who receives the points, not the member who gifts the points).

What if I check-in to a hotel before the date my points are set to expire but do not check out until after?

You must check out prior to the date your points are set to expire in order to retain those points.

Completing a qualifying activity keeps your points active for 18 additional months, from the first day of the month after your activity is completed through the 18th month of inactivity at 12:00 am PST. A qualifying activity is based on when points post or are removed from your account.

You can view your point expiration date in your Choice Privileges account. This can be found in the My Statements area on ChoiceHotels.com or through the mobile app.

Yes, with Points Plus Cash you can purchase the remaining points that you need to redeem for a reward night(s) during the booking. This gives you more reward options and helps you get to a free night faster.

U.S. Choice Privileges members can make Points Plus Cash reservations

Points Plus Cash reservations can only be made via Choicehotels.com (desktop or mobile web), or through the Choice Hotels mobile app (download from Android or Apple). Points Plus Cash reservations cannot be made at the property itself, through the Customer Support Center or through any other channel.

To make a Points Plus Cash reservation, sign into your online account, then search for a location on ChoiceHotels.com and select “Choice Privileges Reward Night” as the rate. Points Plus Cash will be available if you have a minimum of 6,000 points available per night. Points Plus Cash nights are based on 6,000 points plus cash; cash is the cost of the remaining points needed for the reward night.

Points Plus Cash is available for any Choice Hotels property with reward night point levels of 8,000 or higher per room per night. Any reward night offered at less than 8,000 Choice Privileges points must be redeemed with points only.

The cash portion of Points Plus Cash is non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation that is within the hotel’s cancellation deadline and in accordance with the Choice Privileges reward night policy, the total number of points required for the booking will be re-deposited into your account. That includes both the original points you had in your account, plus the points purchased in the Points Plus Cash transaction.

No, you will not earn Choice Privileges points or airline miles for Points Plus Cash reward night reservations. All Choice Privileges reward night rules and regulations apply.

Yes, Points Plus Cash reward nights count toward Elite status.

A maximum of 250,000 points can be purchased through Points Plus Cash in a calendar year.
